N. C. Attorney General forces justice to prevail.
In ALL the furor over Don Imus' REPREHENSIBLE Racist Rant, I have seemed to overlook the GOOD news that the UNWARRANTED and BASELESS charges against the three indicted DUKE Lacrosse players were FINALLY dismissed by the North Carolina Attorney General, Roy Cooper. Mr. Cooper, who aptly described District Attorney, Mike Nifong, as a "rouge Prosecutor", "... believe[d] that these [Duke Lacrosse players] cases were the tragic result of a rush to accuse and a failure to verify serious allegations." Click here to read ALL you want to read about the sorry episode, including Mike Nifong's belated apology. Back last year, I was asking that the cases be dismissed because the accuser's account looked suspect. And in December, when Mike Nifong wised up and dismissed the rape charges but left intact kidnapping charges, I also called for those to be dismissed. I am happy to see justify finally PREVAIL -- NO thanks to Mike Nifong.
Update: N. C. Bar Ethics panel refuses to drop charges against Mike Nifong, as the Duke Lacrosse players refuse to rule out a lawsuit against him.
