Is Gatewood Galbraith the Conservative of the bunch?
Democratic gubernatorial candidate, Gatewood Galbraith, made a campaign stop in Bowling Green a couple of days ago and touted his Conservative credentials. Most of his positions on issues are outlined in his autobiography, The last free man in America: meets the synthetic subversion, which he hands out FREELY to fellow Democrats. From all indications, former Gov. and now Senator, Julian Carroll, has endorsed Gatewood's ideas as being the BEST Democratic ideas out there. So these questions are begged: Is Gatewood the most Conservative in the Democratic field of Governor wanna-bes, and are his ideas the BEST Democratic ideas out there?

Osi, Yes, by all means, Gatewood represents a blend of Jeffersonian/agrarian conservatism and social libertarianism. Ordinarily it wouldn't fly in a Dem primary, but with this year's field being so splintered, who knows. I haven't seen anything about Julian Carroll's endorsement of Gatewood's ideas - can you provide a source?
Yes. Here's the link. You can also find it Gatewood's website.
He's been faring well in some polls, like this one, and others. He is also a Right To Bear Arms supporter , -- an issue that bodes well with Kentucky Conservatives, and he garnered over 100,000 votes as an Independent. The other candidates MAY be making a BIG mistake to overlook him. He could end up in the Democratic runoff!
Thanks for the link. But you listed the wrong name - it's actually Brereton Jones, not Julian Carroll who is endorsing Gatewood's ideas (and easy to see why, since Gatewood is proposing that expanded gambling be centered direcly at racetracks, and jones is a horse breeder).
Thanks. I had both men mixed up. Jones likes all his ideas -- NO? Or do you think it's ONLY because horses make sense to Jones?
Osi, not sure if anyone will see this comment posted after the main post has been archived, but I just remembered something: Didn't Gatewood have some really critical remarks about Brereton Jones, when Jones was contemplating getting into the race himself several weeks ago? Stating that Jones' administration had been a disaster? Maybe you or one of your readers can find or recall this.
It was Steve Henry! I have the video posted here earlier. It is in my archives. If you insist, I'll find it. In fact, I suspect that was one BIG reason Jones bowed out of the Governor's race.
