Person for the week : Kentucky Lt. Governor, Steve Pence.
One person qualifies as our person for this week, if for nothing else but for all the buzz generated for his actions (or non actions) this week. That person is Lt. Governor, Steve Pence, a man whose endorsement of Gov. Fletcher's rival, Rep. Anne Northup, has caused quite a far reaching stir in the Kentucky political arena. A "Brutus" to some and "Lion-hearted" savior to others, Steve Pence's endorsement could be viewed as a nail in Fletcher's coffin or as something that doesn't change the [primary] dynamics much. Either way, STEVE PENCE, for his news making prowess this week, is our person of the week.
Honorable mention: Gov. Fletcher, who has been the subject of most of the political news in Kentucky, including Pence's political stir.
Labels: Person for the week.

It takes absolutey no prowess for a Republican to go to the Herald-Leader and trash Governor Fletcher and get front page headlines. It's like saying it takes great skill to get out of bed in the morning.
Pence's own hypocrisy has been covered by the conservative press in Kentucky. It's no wonder he went to the liberals at the Herald-Leader, he couldn't have withstood the scrutiny of his statements that a well infomred Kentucky Rpeublican would have put him through.
Maybe, but the criteria for the PERSON FOR THE WEEK suggests more of the person's newsworthiness for the applicable week than any other criteria. For this week -- for the right or wrong reason -- that person is Steve Pence, with the Gov. as honorable mention. Once again, thank you for your comment.
I agree with your choice, Osi. No man has generated nearly as much buzz as Pence has.
