Ryan Crocker, the U.S. Ambassador to Iraq, tells a House hearing: "A secure, stable, democratic Iraq that is at peace with its neighbors is, in my view, achievable." Mr.Crocker also warned of the catastrophic consequences of an American withdrawal , including civil war and the probability that Iran will step in to fill the vacuum.
