JCOS Chief, Admiral Mike Mullen, echoes his predecessor, Colin Powell, and urges GITMO closure.

The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs Of Staff, Admiral Mike Mullen, has echoed his predecessor, General Colin Powell, and has urged the closure of the U. S. prison at Guantanamo Bay "GITMO" in Cuba. The Admiral says negative publicity surrounding the treatment of terrorist suspects there has been "pretty damaging" to the image of the United States.

I AGREE and I think it is PAST time to do so, too. How about you?

What do you suggest we do with these folks, almost all of whom were scooped up, out of uniform, on the battlefields of Afghanistan? By American military law and custom, that should mean a summary tribunal and the firing squad.

No Frank, I'm NOT suggesting we hand out "get out of jail" cards!

We close GITMO, then we incarcerate them ELSEWHERE -- even here at home. That's why we have SUPERMAX prisons -- remember the Blind Muslim Cleric?
