President Bush shows up BIG for McConnell, raises $2+ million "war chest".

President Bush was in Louisville today for a fund raiser for Senator Mitch McConnell. Reports from C-J have it that over 600 people attended and raised over $2 million for the Senator's 2008 campaign "war chest." No matter how ANYONE wants to dress this up for his probable opponents, it is quite CLEAR the success of today's event CANNOT be good news for them. If the Senator can raise this much money at one fund raising event, one can imagine what he'll raise by the time he needs the money next year. I'll say that the opposition needs to invest NOW in the pharmaceutical compan(ies) that make Maalox, Pepto Bismal and Milk of Magnesia -- the opposition will need to do so in order to be assured FREE (and abundant) supplies of those stomach settling remedies, in time for next year's senatorial election against the Master of Politics.
