"Log cabin" fills up, as Idaho U. S. Republican Senator appears to check in.

"Log cabin" fills up, as Idaho Republican U. S. Senator, Larry Craig, appears to check in.

Remember these (below)?:

Update: Mitt Romney, having his own conservative credibility (and other presidential campaign) problems himself, quickly decides to throw the "bathroom challenged" Senator, who supports and works for Romney's campaign, "under his campaign bus"!

Until recently when he took some surprising positions on illegal aliens, Larry Craig has had a reputation as a fiercely conservative US Senator and Congressman for over two decades - very vocal on 2nd amendment rights, for example. Let's be honest; for this man to be caught soliciting sexual favors in toilet stalls, is an embarrassment for our whole movement. Some will say we shouldn't consider this kind of conduct relevant in public service, but what kind of message are we then sending to our children?

I'm convinced that a lot of similar antics get covered up in the other party by a more sympathetic media, but that cannot matter; the more conservative party SHOULD be held to higher standards. Morality DOES matter - financial, sexual, substance abuse, domestic violence, truth-telling and otherwise - and Republicans need to better police their upper elite ranks to avoid more Craigs (and Vitters, etc...) having to be "outed" this way.

Let's see. Jeff Gannon, Mark Foley, Ted Haggard, David Vitter, Larry Craig...who knows who's waiting to be exposed in the next monthly installment? (My bet's on Mitch)

Yep, it's becoming quite clear what being an "elite" Republican is really all about!

1:25, your partisan spin says more about yourself than about the issue at hand. Unlike yourself, I want to hold both parties, as well as independents, accountable. Currently there's a double-standard. Have you done anything about cleaning up your Barney Frank, Gerry Studds or William Jefferson problems?

Amen to that, nich. con.!

Barney Frank and Gerry Studds were out front about being gay, and at least Frank admitted his idiocy with the escort service. Jefferson says he's innocent, hell, we know he's not, but he's not the first of either party to stonewall, now is he? Craig and Foley's problem is the hypocrisy more than anything else. Frank is not a hypocrite at least.

Thanks, anon 9:04: I have added the hypocrisy label to the post. Thanks for the "heads up".

Frank denied responsibility for his role in enabling his homosexual lover to run the escort ring in the basement. He turned his partner into the fall guy in order to salvage his own career. The only "idiocy" he admitted to was "I didn't know..." Yeah, right, just like Craig didn't "know" staring into an occupied stall for two minutes before playing footsie was abnormal.

Studds openly defied the collective judgment of the House by refusing to follow the by-law's procedure in receiving a censure. It was an astounding show of arrogance at the time in the '80's. He, like Frank, wasn't about to let anything come between himself and receiving his generous congressional salary, perks and pension.

Unlike what we're going to see from the people of Idaho, the people of Massachusetts will fall for anything as long as it's Leftist.

Well, nich con, I had forgot about Studds. That was brazen, you're right. I don't know half the stuff that goes on in my basement. Hope nuthin like Frank...

As for Craig, and the other bathroom stalkers, any guy who's been followed into a bathroom can figure out sometimes what is being sought. Can't get peace (not piece) anywhere I guess...
